Mr. Hudson Moss,
Organist/Choirmaster

Mr. Hudson Moss is a graduate fellow at Mercer University studying for his MM in Organ Performance with Prof. Jack Mitchener and his MSM (Master in Sacred Music) with Prof. Nathan Myrick. He previously studied organ with Prof. Caroline Robinson (now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Organ at the University of Michigan) while he served as a countertenor staff singer at the Cathedral of St. Philip. As a part of his post-baccalaureate program at the Cathedral, he sang in the Cathedral Singers, Cathedral Choir, and Schola ensembles, and he also taught in the Cathedral’s Royal School of Church Music program. He has performed in masterclasses for Christa Rakish, David Higgs, Nathan Laube, Nicole Keller, and James Bobb. He recently presented at the Society for Ethnomusicology’s annual conference on the unique social formation present at Church of Our Saviour and its connection to music.

Mr. Moss's undergraduate degree is from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received his BS and was an accompanist with the Georgia Tech choirs.

In his free time, he is an avid reader, especially of philosophy, religious studies, and science fiction. When not reading or practicing, he enjoys running on the beltline and hanging out with his partner and friends.

The St. Gregory Choir

The St. Gregory Choir is open to anyone from teenagers to adults who wish to make a joyful noise!

Currently the choir meets for a brief rehearsal before mass and then a longer rehearsal after mass to rehearse music for the upcoming weeks. Email Mr. Moss (ocm@coosatl.org) for more information, or if you have questions.

The St. Cecilia Children’s Choir

Children aged 6 and up are invited to be in our newly-formed St. Cecilia Children’s Choir!

The choir currently rehearses in the choir room during the mass from 9:50 am until about 10:20 am during the school year. Children learn to match pitch, sing correct rhythms, and receive lessons in basic music theory by playing games. They are taught basic scriptural and theological concepts as related to the songs they sing. Children are returned to their parents in Holy Mass at the Gospel.

The choir sings periodically at mass during the year. Choir practice resumes September 8 and will continue until May 11. Click here for a full schedule.

Call the church office or email for more information.
